The film, an extended director’s cut of the 2017 DC superhero film, is not scheduled to be released until 18 March.
However, social media users shared their amusement yesterday when they were able to stream the unreleased film by clicking on Tom & Jerry, the new live-action adaptation of the classic Hanna-Barbera cat-and-mouse cartoons.
Viewers shared incongruous photos of the error on social media, with some claiming they were able to watch roughly an hour of the film before the mistake was remedied.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League was announced last year, and was the result of years of campaigning by fans for Warner Bros to “release the Snyder Cut”.
The “Snyder Cut” was a supposed alternative cut of Justice League overseen by Snyder, who left production of the film halfway through. Joss Whedon was brought in to complete the job, and his eventual version of the film was poorly received by critics and many fans of the franchise.
While the “Snyder Cut” did not in fact exist, Snyder was eventually hired to re-edit the film for HBO, and has filmed several new sequences for the project.
Currently, there is no UK release date announced for the film and HBO Max is unavailable in the UK.
