Steps star Ian ‘H’ Watkins ‘splits from new boyfriend Tom Hope over commitment issues after just three months of dating’

Steps star Ian ‘H’ Watkins has reportedly split from his new boyfriend Tom Home, after just three months of dating.

According to reports, the musician, 44, is said to have called it quits from the tour manager as he struggled to juggle his personal life with his work commitments.

The singer’s romance marked his first relationship in three years after he broke up with his partner of ten years, Craig Ryder.

A source told The Sun: ‘H and Tom had been getting along brilliantly but as time passed, H said he didn’t feel he could commit.

‘They’re remaining friends and there is no bad blood between them. H and Tom made a lovely couple and their friends are supporting them as they move on.

‘H has his hands full with his twins and his work. They wish each other well.’ MailOnline has contacted Ian’s representatives for further comment.

An insider previously told the publication that the former dancer made the former Dancing On Ice star ‘the happiest he’s been in a long time’.

Ian had an acrimonious break-up from Craig in 2017, just one year after the couple had twin sons, Macsen and Cybi, four, via a surrogate.

They first began sharing their wishes to start a family back in 2011, but suffered a heartbreaking loss in 2012 when their first surrogate miscarried.

The Welshman was been branded a ‘bully’ by his ex, as the pair went through a bitter court battle over a Range Rover.

In January 2019, Ian sued the actor over the vehicle, and also claimed he had loaned him £15,000 to purchase the car.

The Bat out of Hell star reportedly insists the money was a gift, as he labelled Ian a ‘financial bully’ who had ‘deleted him’ from his life.

Speaking at the City of London County Court to Judge Edward Bailey, he said: ‘I would never take a loan. We had been together for many years and we have children together.

‘I wouldn’t have accepted a loan and I needed a car. Mr Watkins has completely played the financial card for the last two years.

‘If you had said to me five years ago that this is where I would be now, I would never have believed you.’

In recent months, Ian has been keeping busy promoting his new album What The Future Holds with Steps co-members Faye Tozer, Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee and Lee Latchford-Evans.

The iconic hitmakers – who rose to fame in 1997 before splitting in 2001 – are expected to kick off their nationwide tour from November 2021.
