Married At First Sight sexologist Alessandra Rampolla says some of the couples ‘jump in bed right away’ on their wedding night
She’s the newest relationship expert on Married At First Sight and will make her debut on Monday night’s season premiere.
And Alessandra Rampolla has offered viewers a glimpse of what to expect when Nine’s social experiment returns in three days’ time.
The qualified sexologist, 46, told Nova FM’s Fitzy & Wippa on Friday there would be a good mix of love and drama this time around.
Love guru: Sexologist and new Married At First Sight expert Alessandra Rampolla has offered viewers a glimpse of what to expect when Nine’s social experiment returns on Monday
‘There’s some interesting situations,’ she told radio hosts Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald, Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli and Sarah McGilvray.
‘It’s a really good season – there is love, there is drama, there’s emotion, there’s hope.
‘There’s some people that have come in, I feel, really genuine and willing to be vulnerable on camera, which is not easy so power to them.’
Alessandra said the couples in the experiment were quite different when it came to intimacy, with some more keen than others.
‘We have some couples that jump in bed right away and we have some that really wait it out a long time,’ she said.
‘Sometimes they are made fun of by the rest when they’re not being intimate so it’s almost like high school on TV. There’s all this social peer pressure: are you doing it? Are you not? What does it mean?
‘There are some couples where if that sexual spark is there that can help build [a relationship] right off the bat, whereas others need to feel comfortable and build trust, and really feel like they’re ready.’
Alessandra will join Mel Schilling and John Aiken on the panel of experts in 2021.
She will ask the participants about their sex lives during group therapy sessions in an attempt to liven up the intimacy between couples.
She is replacing former expert Dr Trisha Stratford, who announced last year she was leaving the franchise after seven seasons.
