Al Nassr, riding a four-game winning streak, initially found themselves on the defensive as Al Raed, managed by former Shakhtar Donetsk boss Igor Jovicevic, imposed their control on the game. Jovicevic’s side utilized a disciplined 4-4-2 formation with zonal marking, frustrating Ronaldo and his teammates.

Despite Al Nassr’s efforts to break through with long balls, Al Raed’s compact defense held strong, denying the visitors any clear chances. However, just before halftime, the pivotal moment arrived. From the outside of the penalty area, Sadio Mane pounced on a loose ball and fired a powerful shot that nestled in the bottom left corner of the goal.

Moments later, a foul on Mane resulted in Bander Whaeshi receiving a red card, reducing Al Raed to ten men just before the halftime whistle.

The second half saw Al Nassr capitalize on their numerical advantage. Anderson Talisca, who had previously scored a hat-trick against the same opponent in December of the previous year, entered the fray as a substitute. He made an early impact by unleashing an unbelievable long-range shot only four minutes into the second half.
Al Nassr’s attacks were directed by Talisca for 30 minutes until Ronaldo was placed up for the goal.
Ronaldo showed off his remarkable talents by nutmegging his opponent and putting the ball in the goal.

This convincing victory propelled Al Nassr to fifth place in the league standings, while Al Raed languished in 15th place. Cristiano Ronaldo and his team are now set to kick off their AFC Champions League 2023-24 campaign against Iranian side Persepolis on September 19, with fans eagerly anticipating more stellar performances from the football legend.
